Sophisticated Traveler, Inc. ("STI"), under license from the founder of Airhitch® and in collaboration with the Airhitch® Online Staff, hereby agrees to act as agent on behalf of the passenger whose name appears in the above or back-linked electronic registration form, for the purpose of facilitating the transportation, between the specified regions, described thereon, or such other transportation as the passenger shall subsequently agree to, either verbally, in writing, or by the action of boarding an Aircraft departing across the Atlantic or Pacific.

The passenger, by acceptance of these conditions, and the Airhitch® system description as provided on the rest of this WorldWide Web site, which is hereby annexed and made a part of these terms and conditions, acknowledges that the limit of STI's responsibility is to facilitate the securing of said transportation during the date-range specified, or, failing to do so, to refund all monies remitted by the passenger for said transportation, and waives any claims against STI, Airhitch®, or its agents for any monetary damages beyond that amount.

The passenger further acknowledges understanding of the fact that Airhitching is HITCHHIKING, and thus that no guarantees can be made as to precise or specific departure date, city of departure, or city of destination, and agrees to adopt a flexible style of travel appropriate to hitchhiking, in order to accommodate him/herself to the possibility of changes or delays. The passenger further acknowledges that it is his/her sole responsibility to contact the Airhitch® Online Staff if any problem occurs at an airport, or with flight details provided to the passenger by Airhitch® staff, and to VERIFY any contradictory statements from airline representatives with the Airhitch® Online Staff before proceeding, and that failure to do so may result in the forfeiture of any possible refund or recompense.

The passenger further acknowledges that (s)he assumes, in full, the responsibility for being in possession of all such necessary travel documents as may be required for international or domestic travel, and for presenting him/herself punctually at the time and place designated by Airhitch®, and agrees that STI/Airhitch® shall not be considered to have failed to secure transportation for any passenger who does not fulfill the above obligations. [NON-U.S. NATIONALS originating abroad should take particular note of the above, as Airhitch® documentation alone may not suffice as proof of intent to exit the U.S.]

LIABILITY DISCLAIMER The passenger hereby waives, in the absence of negligence on the part of STI/Airhitch®, any claim against STI/Airhitch® or its agents for damages due to personal injury, property damage, accident, delay, or irregularity caused or occasioned by any air carrier.; and acknowledges that STI/Airhitch® has fulfilled its contractual obligations once the voucher or electronic boarding code provided to the passenger by STI/Airhitch® is turned over to an air carrier in exchange for authority to board its aircraft.

The passenger further acknowledges understanding of the fact that all Airhitchers, once accepted for boarding by any air carrier or air-transportation-provider, are subject to such conditions as may be set forth by the air carrier on any document reperesenting such boarding authority it may choose to issue, and that STI/Airhitch® cannot be held accountable for delays or cancellations due to "force majeure", i.e., unforeseeable natural or social disruptive events which impede the normal operation of aircraft or the normal boarding of passengers on those aircraft, including, but not limited to, weather occurrences, natural catastrophes, strikes, wars, or violent political or social upheaval.

The passenger hereby agrees that any dispute under or concerning this agreement must be filed and heard in the city of Providence, Rhode Island. All hard-copy correspondence must be sent to STI/Airhitch®, 1270 Pawtucket Ave., Rumford,  RI 02916.
