NOTE: This form is NOT a simple request for a price quote. If you need to know about costs, click here. By submitting this form, you are actually signing up for and engaging to the Airhitch® program and becoming part of the Airhitch® community at least for your current trip. It is optional (though strongly recommended!), but constitutes an actual engagement to the Airhitch® process, and should not be undertaken lightly, for if you fill it out completely and correctly, and submit it, you will be "logically" on your way to your destination region, as it provides us with all the info we need to help get you going!  So, if it is not your immediate intention to sign up for Airhitch® at this time, please do not fill out this form (or, at least, don't click "Submit"!). *  This donation is totally voluntary and thus tax-deductible if you pay taxes in the U.S. (and most other countries); it functions as an expression of appreciation for the existence of Airhitch® and the benefits it brings to the community of budget unstructured exploratory travelers, a gesture of solidarity and goodwill toward that community, and a contribution to the likelihood that Airhitch® will be around in the future, when you need it. You can refuse to pledge it, by simply leaving the field blank; however, for obvious reasons, during flight-briefings in the Airhitch® chatroom, people who donate will be given priority treatment over those who don't, and those who don't will be constantly nagged to change their minds!

** People from "the old days" (pre-Internet) of Airhitch remember that you used to have to have a piece of paper, called a "voucher", in order to board your flight. But since the advent of cyber, the FedEx charge almost never applies since paper has been virtually eliminated from the Airhitch® process, and replaced by a simple, 6-character "ABC" (Airhitch Boarding Code) which, if it turns out that you need one,  you get online during your flight-briefing! In the highly unlikely event (it hasn't happened AT ALL since 2001!) you should need to pay for a FedEx in order for us to get paper into your hands, the cost will depend on where you are when you receive your Airhitch® voucher(s), i.e., where you ask us to send it/them, not where you are going. 

*** "Offered" means presented as the actual effective cost amount which would be debited to your credit-card if you booked the flight(s). Since there is often, on transportation-provider websites, a disparity between INDICATED costs prior to transacting the actual reservation and the actual effective cost which gets debited to your card (the latter is virtually ALWAYS higher!), you will need to take careful note of the actual effective cost by taking the paging of the website right up to the page where you are being asked to enter your credit-card info, to see how much is effectively being asked (obviously, you will not want to actually enter your credit-card data unless you actually want to effect the transaction, as your credit-card will almost certainly be debited instantly by the transportation-provider whose site you are visiting!).
Note that you almost certainly will NOT need anything sent to you via FedEx, as paper has become outmoded and unnecessary with the world moving towards totally-electronic boarding; however, we need to get your authorization for FedEx charges "just in case", i.e., in the highly unlikely event you should turn out to need a FedEx shipment sent to you. Note that the system will remove your authorization from your reg. form if vouchers (and thus FedEx) turn out to not be necessary!

[Note: when you click the "submit" button, if your Airhitch® reg. has been submitted properly, you should see pop open on your screen a browser window containing an acknowledgment from us that either (a) the CGI form has been successfully submitted, OR, (b) there was some problem encountered in submission, along with brief instrux on how to solve the problem and resubmit. If you see (a), then you can expect to receive, via email, within a reasonable period of time (it varies depending on how much demand we are experiencing), the promised reply, which consists of a REGistration ACKnowledgment ("REGACK") notifying you that we received your reg. and telling you exactly how to proceed. If, on the other hand, you see (b), you will, of course, need to correct whatever errors you are informed of by that window and resubmit.

But, if you do not see either of these windows, do not repeatedly click the "submit" button as that could result in flooding us with multiple copies of your registration. Instead, minimize all windows on your desktop one by one, and if you finish minimizing them and still don't see (a) or (b), we strongly urge you to send us a regular email, to the address info-at-airhitch-dot-org* with the "return receipt requested" function of sendmail enabled, informing us of your problem. In any event, after you submit your registration, if you do not hear back from us within 24 hours, you can assume that WE DID NOT GET IT, because we normally respond to all email, including CGI submissions, WITHIN 2-4 HOURS (but give it 24 hours to be safe...we may be backlogged!)]

Airhitch® Transportation Costs


(Note that the costs shown below are ESTIMATED COSTS based on the statistical mode of what Airhitchers have had to pay over the entire history of Airhitch®, and account for the ONLY payment you will have to make to anyone under ordinary circumstances in order to board a flight from your region of origin to your destination region; however, depending on how your Airhitching endeavor unfolds, and the resulting degree of approximation to your desired specific itinerary, you MAY have to disburse minimal and marginal additional payments directly to "auxiliary transportation-providers" other than the one(s) the Airhitch® community points you to, in order to position yourself to take advantage of your "Airhitchable hop" across the bulk of the distance.
