Benefits & Drawbacks associated with Airhitch® Registration

BENEFITS:

1. It triggers a process which ultimately will end up with you on the other side of an ocean. (Note that although there are other ways of triggering this process, registration tends to be the most effective way, and is therefore HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.)

2. It helps facilitate information-flow during your FLIGHT-BRIEFING, by which you will receive all the specific info you need to have, in order to board an Airhitchable flight, or otherwise MINIMIZE YOUR COST and MAXIMIZE YOUR FREEDOM, in accomplishing your travel.

3. It puts you into instant and immediate contact with the worldwide population of Airhitchers, who share information openly with each other on the most economic ways to get places.

DRAWBACKS:

NONE, that we know of, but if you spot any, be sure to let us know (via email at aoscentralemail-at-airhitch-dot-org*), so we can adjust this page! And consider the following:

1. Cost? There is none, associated with registering: it's absolutely free.

2. Spyware? NO WAY! We hate spyware as much as you do! So obviously we don't put any on your machine...not even cookies!

3. Popups? NO WAY! Again, we hate them as much as you do. We don't, you may have noticed, even have any advertising banners on our site (other than the ones we are obliged to have there because we are using the vendors' services, like, e.g., PicoSearch)! This is because we are non-commercial...just a student organization that "grew up". (For more on this, see our ethos page!)

4. Spam? We hate it as much as you do...so you'll NEVER get any from us!

5. Viruses and worms? We never send any attachments in email other than ones YOU MIGHT REQUEST. So if you NEVER open any attachments from us, other than ones YOU REQUESTED, then you'll run ZER RISK of getting a virus or worm!

6. Credit-card security? Yes, we do ask you for your credit-card info, in order to be sure you are "serious" about Airhitching and not just playing around. BUT, we believe that the risk of credit-card fraud via the Internet, despite all the media hype, is EXTREMELY MINIMAL. This is primarily because, though the financial institutions who take the major loss on ANY credit-card fraud, however minimal, would prefer not to have you know it, THEY ARE OBLIGATED by FTC regulations dating back to the dawn of the credit-card industry in the nineteen-FIFTIES, to absorb ANY CONSUMER LOSS due to fraud ON OR OFF THE INTERNET, over the sum of fifty dollars. A second reason is, that NOT A SINGLE AIRHITCHER HAS EVER REPORTED CREDIT-CARD FRAUD PERPETRATED AGAINST THEM VIA THE INTERNET -- in the entire 14 years (or so) over which we've been online!
