TALES OF AIRHITCHERS PAST & PRESENT

Airhitch® is a somewhat radical and controversial system, because as an alternative self-help system it operates in ways completely different from the orthodoxies of the air transport industry. However...it works (to the extent that in the summer of '98 we had a 99.7% success rate, which may even be higher than the airlines themselves, given the practices of overbooking and "bumping"!), and for this reason we have included here some accounts, direct from emails received from recent Airhitchers who have completed or are currently going thru the process of their trips, giving their experiences and volunteering to be contacted by you and others, via email or electronic chat, for further discussion of these experiences.

Thus, you can feel free to contact any of the Airhitchers past or present whose email addresses appear below; their only request is that you be mindful that they are volunteering their time and therefore keep the amount of time you demand from them to a minimum.

Richard Frychel, who Airhitched with a date-range starting Feb. 6, 1999

Tom Minicucci, who is heading for Europe with his son and whose email speaks pretty much for itself!

Andy Delicata, Univ. of Chicago sophomore, who had never heard of Airhitch® prior to this summer of '98 and had never been to Europe before

Norman, a southern Calif. non-student who signed up for Airhitch® and flew round-trip from the west coast to Europe in winter of '98-'99, but who requests that his last name be withheld for privacy reasons

Liz S., a U. of Virginia student who asked us to arrange a TARGET FLIGHT® from the northeastern U.S. to St. Thomas, in the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Alex Raytburg, a New York University student who Airhitched in May of '98

Kate Wagenlander, who was very happy to hear from us!

Gene Markow, who Airhitched from the northeast to Italy in August of '97,
then back from Germany in November of that same year

Jim Sawyer, researcher, who arranged a trip to Israel via Paris, Munich, and Zagreb using Airhitch
in September of '98

Carter Durham, Brigham Young Univ. student, who with two friends Airhitched from
the west coast to Europe this past summer ('99)

Erika Ginzburg-Klemmt, who started using Airhitch in the mid-eighties as a student and has used it EIGHT TIMES in the past six months as a mother with infant (thru March of '00, when this link was posted)
