If you have an AIM screenname already, you can just click here and type it in the top box in the next window, then type your password in the box under it, and click "sign-on" (the little green man in the lower right-hand corner). It may take a good 30 seconds for the sign-on window to appear. If you don't know what an AIM screenname is, keep reading.

An AIM screenname identifies you uniquely when  you are on the AOL Instant Messenger (AIM). If you don't know what the AOL Instant Messenger is, see below. If you do not already have an AIM screenname, you can either click here and go directly to get yourself one, or, you can click here and then click, in the next window that opens, the "Get a ScreenName" link.

AIM (the AOL Instant Messenger) is a system for chatting directly and interactively with anyone on the Internet, including us.

Everybody on AIM has to have a screenname.

Our primary screenname is Airhitch, but we have backup screennames of AirhitchNN, where NN is any whole integer from 00 to 20. You'll figure out how to find us when you get on AIM (basically you just put us in your "buddylist" and we'll pop up in your "online list", then you double-click on our name and a window will open into which you can type a message to us. If someone is looking, you'll get an instant response, but if not, you may have to wait a bit). But if you run into any trouble, just email us at aoscentralemail-at-airhitch-dot-org * and we'll help.
